Seat Summary

The Millwork Team as a whole is responsible for executing high-end woodwork, millwork and cabinetry components. The Millwork Engineer is responsible for executing projects independently and thoroughly while achieving Adams and Beasley’s high standards of detail, quality and craftsmanship. The Millwork Engineer performs site measurements, drafting and specifying cabinetry, millwork and their components. They work with the Millwork Manager, Lead Millworker, Construction Managers, Project Managers as well as Architects and Designers to plan and detail projects. AutoCAD drafting and experience in the production of cabinetry and millwork is essential. The position requires strong organization, documentation and communication skills. Experience in both digital drafting and the construction of woodworking and cabinetry is necessary.


Accountability

  • Site Measurements for millwork projects.

  • Creating and revising shop drawings and specifications based on design drawings and direction.

  • Meet with Lead Millworker to coordinate planning and detailing of projects.

  • Work with Construction Managers and Project Managers to ensure proper detailing and specifications of millwork.

  • Tracking details and changes throughout a project

  • Develop cut lists and material take offs.

  • Be aware of what tasks are coming next and ensure that all pertinent information and specifications are in hand

  • Positively represents the company through all interactions; with co-workers, vendors and subcontractors.

  • Reports to shop on time. If tardiness is unavoidable, notifies Millwork Manager prior to 7:30 am.

  • Additional responsibilities will be assigned based on business needs.

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years cabinetry, millwork and drafting experience

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
