Seat Summary

Primarily, the assistant project manager (APM) is accountable for working with the Project Managers in maintaining accurate and up-to-date information about the project in the form of the project manual. The project manual is composed of all design documentation for the project, including drawings, selections schedules, and finish specifications. Beginning with the project design and planning through construction, the APM is accountable for the ongoing maintenance of the project manual and all of the project documentation therein.

During the construction and the construction planning process, the APM helps the project manager and the construction manager (project lead in the field) with the management of the project by attending the weekly meetings and following up on tasks to keep the project on track. This can include coordinating with the design teams on revisions to the plans, selections research, vendor coordination, and sample creation.

Accountability

  • Document management for projects

  • Ordering and order tracking of finish materials

  • Coordination with vendors and subcontractors to vet project selections

  • Adhering to ABA Processes for all relevant phases of work

  • Attends project management Level 10 meetings

  • Maintains up-to-date project manual and Client portal

  • Attends weekly onsite meetings with project team and Clients

  • Visits to showrooms, fabricators, and others to check project status, gather sample materials, etc.General experience with spreadsheet

Additional Position Responsibilities

  • Additional responsibilities will be assigned based on business needs.

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • 1-3 yrs experience in architecture or construction project management or commensurate coursework

  • General experience with spreadsheet applications (Smartsheet/Google Sheets)

  • Base level ability to read architectural plans and interpret them for finishes and selections

  • Strong time management and communication skills

  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills

  • High EQ skills, able to read Client’s and Designer’s needs.

  • Needs a car or other transportation
