PROJECT DETAILS
Rooted in legacy and reimagined for modern life, this residence is a deeply personal expression of heritage, culture, and contemporary luxury. The transformation of a 1920s brick Georgian-style home reflects a bicultural identity and a shared reverence for art, storytelling, and material richness.
Traditional Indian craftsmanship meets a modern sensibility in every room. Jewel tones and high-gloss finishes are layered with handpicked textiles and wallcoverings, creating a lush but balanced palette. A serene, white-on-white primary bath is anchored by a dramatic wall of custom “Makrana” marble inlaid with mirror—a bespoke design inspired by Rajasthani mandala art and crafted in India. This motif of pattern and narrative continues throughout the home, where custom details—stone, tile, fabric, and fine art—celebrate heritage while embracing a global point of view.
Architecturally, the home’s expansion honors the original structure while introducing modern comfort and elegance. A covered porch was enclosed to extend the formal living room, now an all-season retreat with expansive windows, a new fireplace clad in ribbed lavender stone, and a custom floor in a classic trellis mosaic pattern. The interiors seamlessly blend tradition with playful contrast: sari-inspired drapery, Mexican Talavera pottery, and custom upholstery in colors drawn from ancestral landscapes.
This residence honors its cultural roots while embracing a contemporary family’s way of living—elevated, expressive, and personal.
